It has been an oppressively hot summer. One of the reasons we like Kobe so much, is you can escape the heat by going up the slopes of the hills behind the city. Even without going high into the hills of Rokko-san or Maya-san, you can feel the temperature difference just 15 minutes up the hill from the Hankyu Line. As you get further up toward the tree line, the air feels not only cooler, but fresher too.
In addition, there are more houses with nice gardens and views on the hillside, so we selected some houses on the slopes for sale for this month. They are fairly large in size - around 100m2 or more - with parking space for one or two cars. Most of them have superb views or decent sized outside space for families to enjoy. See below.
On a related subject, we came across a loan company, GE Money, who say they will provide home loans to non-Japanese Citizens. We heard they prefer to lend to people with Permanent Residence Status, but it is worth checking. We would appreciate some feedback if you talk to them. We would like to know how this works in practice.
